Charlotte, NC (March 28, 2011)--The Pride Entrepreneur Education Program (PEEP) will award scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year in June. Applicants will be required to complete the scholarship application form, write a personal statement and submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, administrator or member of the community. PEEP Scholarship applications can be found by visiting http://www.peepcharlotte.org/. Completed applications must be returned to PEEP by May 16, 2011.

With the generous support of Fifth Third Bank, PEEP has awarded $60,000 in scholarships to 23 local students since 2008. PEEP Scholarships for 2011-2012 have been made possible by donations from Fifth Third Bank along with other organizations and individuals.

Education and entrepreneurship, now more than ever, are two vital components necessary to build strong, vibrant sustainable communities. The PEEP Scholarship program, annual PEEP Luncheon and upcoming Summer Entrepreneurship Camp are all ways that PEEP works to ensure local young people are taking steps on the path to bright futures.
