Smith University Grimes Lounge Theme: “A Response and Commitment to the Call” Males in Crisis: The value of youth and men to our community Strategies and Solutions In January 2009, the summit, “A Call to Action,” was held to bring together men from diverse social, political and economic backgrounds to develop a process to organize, plan and execute initiatives that would reshape our community through strategic leadership, collaboration, and collective empowerment. The summit purpose was to impact our community by focusing on shared goals and common interest for the benefit of males in the community. The outcomes of the 2009 summit included: • Brainstorming and prioritizing what the participants saw as the primary issues with males in the community • Developing consensus around the top 4-8 issues • Identified programs and services in the community that w

The organization provides an opportunity for male self-awareness, fellowship, support, joyfulness, play and enhancement of male roles as a friend, son, partner and citizen. Hey everyone, I’m Dany Eason is the owner of DEPR Communications, Community, & YounGents Mentoring program. I have been working very hard to dedicate my time to the things that matter to me. One of those things is you. I would like to get more involved with more community events and affairs. Is time to highlight those individuals, affair, and events that matter to the hearts, minds, of our community. The one thing that I hear all the time is that there aren’t enough events for a cause, and where are these events at? And how do I get involved? While, since I have a large email list, (17,000) I want to be able to give the people what they want. I been called the unofficially mayor by many and I laugh, but its true I do know a lot of people in Charlotte. So I would like to use my powers for good, and give back, starting this month I will post any events that driving by a causes for free for the next two months.
